Mets win first spring game 4-2 Ike Davis strokes double.

As most of the starters were moved out of the lineup due to early morning Florida thunderboomers the Mets b team beat the Braves 4-2.

Nelson Figueroa pitched 2 innings and struck out the side in the 2nd inning with 2 runners on with the help of the 3rd base ump on a check swing .

Mets future 1st baseman Ike Davis had a double in the fifth inning and scored a run.

Non roster invitee Bobby Livingston, who had a cup of coffee with the Reds in 2007 pitched impressivly. He came in after ELmer Dessens tooka shot off the knee. Livingston pitched 2 2/3 innigs and struck out 4. The lefty earned the win.

Russ Adams stroked a bomb in the bottom of the 8th that landed at the top of the berm to put the Mets ahead 4-2.


Gary Matthews went 0 for 3 while hitting into a double play.
