Mets put it in the books! Win easy 7-1

Wow. A blow out and the Mets are on the winning side. How about that? They played crisp in the field even with the crazy wind patterns, David Wright hits a homer in his first at bat, and the bullpen doesnt explode. Who are these guys?

Mets had a great day weather wise and it seemed like everything went well on the field as well as the Mets crushed there NL East foes the Marlins 7-1.

Santana pitched 6 innings and gave way to Fernando Nieve who gave up 2 hits over 2 innings for and K Rod pitched a 1 2 3 ninth. See what happens when your firing on all cyclinders?

Umm did anyone see Mr Bay motor around those bases for a triple in that 6th inning? This guy is decievingly fast.

David Wright hit a home down the right field line ala Chase Utley in his first at bat. Now the Mets have tied last years record of 1 homer to the opposite field at Citi Field. Not sure it took a year to realize that it shouldnt be that hard to do.

Gery Matthews Jr had some fun making catches in Centerfield with the wind that was blowing yesterday.

Did anyone notice that in the first inning Castillo did not square to bunt? Is he ok?
Mets say good riddance to Figgy by giving his number 27 to Frankie Catalonotto who struck out.

The Marlins were horrible in the field led by 1st baseman Gabby Sanchez and Centerfielder Cameron Maybin.

The Mets have a day to enjoy there first win and play Wednesday night with John Maine on the hill.
