According to Anthony DiComo on his new Mets Cetera blog, mets righty Mike Pelfrey had an MRI on his "tight" right shoulder.
Pelfrey nor the Mets think there is any problem, but the Mets are erring on the side of caution, which is a good sign.
Pelfrey has been durable throughout his short career, pitching in 200.2 innings in his rookie year ('08) and 184.1 last year.
Pelfrey is scheduled to have a bullpen session tomorrow, where the Mets will re-evaluate him. His next scheduled start is Friday against Giants at GHMP.
In other news, Gary Cohen just announced that Kelvim Escobar will undergo surgery for a torn capsule in the front of his right shoulder, and will be out the remainder of the year.
