Hey Carlos Beltran time to put rehab into high gear

With the way the Mets are playing these days Mr Beltran is sure to take notice. The Mets now are in the process of beating the bad teams and with 1 more win have assured themselves there first winning road trip of 2010. They started off the road trip at 8-12 and now are at 12-18 after 4 wins. As the Phillies falter and the Braves battle the tough Rays, the Mets find themselves only ½ game out of first place. Not too shabby eh Mr Beltran?

Every other day we seem to get a report on Beltran. Oh he went 3-6, or he went 2-5 with a home run in simulated game. He might be back before the All Star game or maybe after the All star game. Oh boy he played 2 innings in the outfield. Then yesterday we heard he is still limping and has not exploded yet in his running rehab. Yawn…who cares!

I really do not care about what he does until he plays in minor league games & the clock for his return is ticking. It is maddening the reports we get about his minuscule progress.

What I hope is that he sees how the team is doing and puts his rehab into high gear. Or if he needs more surgery just get it so we can move on. Of course when he is healthy he is exciting to watch. His daily progress right now should be an after thought. If things don’t accelerate soon, before you know it. Beltran will be a footnote in 2010.
