The Marlins fired manager Fredi Gonzalez and two coaches as per the Palm Beach Post. Edwin Rodriguez, who had been managing the organization's Triple A affiliate, will replace Gonzalez as interim manager. The Marlins have been hovering around .500 and right now are at 34-36. Also let go were coaches Carlos Tosca and Jim Presley . They will be replaced with Brandon Hyde and John Mallee.
Gonzalez has a 276-279 record in close to 3 and half years managing the Marlins. This will probably open the door for Gonzalez to become the skipper of the Braves once Cox retires since he was a favorite in Atlanta before he took the Marlins Job.
Marlins owner Loria has been looking to replace him since last year since he thought his team was a playoff team.
