Good news for David Wright since even if he doesn’t catch Polanco he could be the starting 3rd Baseman in the 2010 All Star Game as the Phillies have placed Placido Polanco on the 15-day disabled list.
Chase Utley has joined him as well. Utley is out with a sprained right thumb. He didn’t seem himself when he was in NY last time but Utley is always denying everything. Polanco said yesterday he thought he had a pre-existing bone spur that might require surgery after the season. Maybe it cant wait. He was replaced by Wilson Vades at 3rd last night. Big blow for the Phillies who just got back Rollins from a hamstring injury.
The Phillies had been playing better of late with the return of Rollins. Now they can get a taste of the Mets 2009 season or if Polanco is lost for the year maybe they trade for Feliz who is playing for the hapless Astros!
