Mike Pelfrey: Words Of A Competitor

We have all watched Big Pelf go from a highly touted mouth guard chewing nervous rookie to a solid starter, to the sophomore jinx, to a dominating pitcher this year.

After last nights gem of a game, the big right hander had this to say about some potential trouble he faced in the eighth and ninth innings: ____________________________________________________________
“ I looked at it that we’ve got guys at second base, so what. I’m not going to let him score.”
__________________________________________________________________

Pelfrey is 4-1 at GHMP this year with a 2.71 ERA in six games. Over his last five starts, Big Pelf has an incredible 1.19 ERA.

Pelfrey is beginning to become the pitcher the Mets expected when they drafted him #1 in 2005.

From a nervous rookie to a confident stopper. It doesn't get any better than this!
