Omar Minaya spoke with reporters about Oliver Perez, and informed us that Ollie will make his first rehab start today with St. Lucie.
Minaya said that they are looking to have Perez throw 90 pitches, and he isn't worried about velocity, but location; "Location is the key."
When asked what type of role Ollie will have with the Mets, Minaya indicated that he believed that Perez is a starter, but the decision was up to Manuel and pitching coach Dan Warthen as to where the much maligned left hander will best help the team.
