Welcome to NY Jesus Felicano

The kid , well not a kid anymore he just turned 31 the other day, Jesus will be in the Majors for the first time in his career tonight as the Mets take on the Padres.

Felicano was hitting .385 to pace the international league. He has hit over .300 the last couple of years for the Mets triple A affiliate. With Matthews Jr finally jettisoned, Jesus will backup Angel Pagan in Centerfield. Felicano hits for average but doesn't have much power . He is a singles spray hitter. He has 13 doubles and has a .426 on base percentage. He hits for contact since he doesn't strike out much. So far in 206 at bats he had only 17 strike outs.

Tough to break in when you have to break in the city of NY but hey at least he wont have to deal with all the hoopla that Strasburg will have in DC tonight. Kind of different expectations.
