Jeff Suppan and possibly Freddy Garcia up for grabs.

If the Mets want a pitcher cheap before they dive into the Cliff Lee waters, they might take a look at a couple of pitchers that are available.

The Brewers just released Met 2006 killer Jeff Suppan. He has been horrible this year with a Era north of 7.00 in a mop up role. Met fans would hate to see this guy in a Met uni.

Freddy Garcia is pitching decent for the White Sox this year. He has a 5-3 record with a ERA under 5.00 The White Sox unofficially have notified teams they are open for business as per Buster Onley of ESPN.com

no need...suppan and garcia are just as good (or should i say bad) as john maine and he will be back soon. takahashi may be the best of the group still but he was a great long man so he should get pushed back when maine comes back.
