As per Adam Rubin, the Mets have recalled oft injured, highly overrated outfielder Fernando Martinez.
With problems the Mets have been having with both Pelfrey and Takahashi, it makes you wonder why Pat Misch hasn't been recalled. He pitched lights out in Spring Training, and has pitched very well for Buffalo. Misch is 10-4 with a 3.34 ERA in 145.2 IP.
On the other hand, Martinez has been nothing short of awful. He is batting .255 with 12 HR's and 33 RBI. His OBP is .321.
Could Omar be show-casing Martinez for a possible trade? According to sources Martinez has not been put through waivers.

Adam Rubin has just reported that Ruben Tejada has also been recalled. No word yet on an moves the Mets have made to be able to promote these two players. Possible Francoeur trade?
