First round of interviews next week will net Rick Hahn,Josh Byrnes,Allard Baird

As the playoffs contiue tongiht the Mets seem set to start the interviewing process next week with 2 former GM and 1 assitant GM.

They include White Sox assistant GM Rick Hahn, former Arizona GM Josh Byrnes and former Kansas City GM and current Boston assistant GM Allard Baird.

Hahn,  has served as a close assistant to GM Ken Williams, and is highly respected in baseball circles. Hahn has spent much of the past two years on the road, evaluating talent for the White Sox and working to improve those skills. Of course dealing with the atmosphere on the southside of Chicago if he spent any time there would be helpful. Wally Backman worked for the Whitesox through 2003, Hahn's 2nd year with the club.

Byrnes who is 40,  was the GM for the D Backs for 4and half years but was fired mid this year. He gave A J Hinch a job as manager with no prior managing experience.

Baird was the Royals GM from 2000 to 2006 but now works under Theo Epstein in Boston.

Of course more interviews are coming down the line. I wonder with the NY media the way they are if there will be a press conference after every interview.

No word on Sandy Alderson but it seems MLB wouldnt stand in his way.
