Today will be both Jerry Manuel and Omar Minaya's last day in their current positions. Jerry is quoted as saying he wants to manage, so chances are, if offered, he would refuse another assignment within the organization. As has been well documented, Jerry's contract expires at season's end, and the Mets will not pick up his option.
As for Omar, he still has two years remaining on his contract, so the Mets might try and re-assign him within the organization. Whether he accepts it or not remains to be seen.
The Mets go for a much meaningless sweep of the hapless Nationals at Gil Hodges Memorial Park.
