1 more day to go for 2010 regular season and Manager Jerry

Ok so the Mets will be packing there lockers and playing golf after todays sunday afternoon matinee against the last place Nationals while teams like the Padres and Braves and Giants still have to wait until after today for possibly everything being settled. It is crazy to think that after 161 games that 3 teams are still vying for 2 spots and after Sunday's contest there could still be a 3 way tie depending on what happens.

Of course the Mets can only watch as they have Mike Pelfrey going against the ageless wonder of Livan Hernandez at game #81 at Citi Field today. The Mets could finish the season 80-82 which would give them 10 more wins then last years team but it wont be enough to save the Manager and the GM.

There was some chatter that Omar was told yesterday of his fate and that Manager Jerry will have to wait until either after the game or on Monday to learn his.

The Mets whacked the Nationals with some home run power yesterday. They had 3 home runs at Citi Field and all 3 were bombs. Yes that was R A Dickey on the mound for 1 inning of relief. He was applauded loudly by the Mets faithful at the end of his inning. Manager Jerry said that with Misch and Valdes used as starters the bullpen was taxed. Of course much maligned Ollie Perez might beg to differ!

One day to go before we set ourselves for pitcher and catchers to report to spring training. Some 140+ days in the future. Not that I am couting.
