Beltran and Bay overcome there demons

Sunday the Mets won a game with a save by Boof. As Bonser pitched the 9th to secure the Mets 6-5 against the scraps of the Red Sox, the Mets also were able to breath a sigh of relief in other areas.

It didn't take long for Beltran to prove that he can still hit and run. In his first at bat he singled and took 2nd on the single by Jason Bay. Then the Mets hitting 2nd baseman Daniel Murphy delivered a single, and of course Chip Hale not really realizing that it was Beltran was running sent him home and there is Carlos sliding into the plate. I guess the aspect of taking it easy was thrown out the window. Beltran lumbered around 3rd and thankfully there was no play at the plate as the throw was wide. Say it wasnt? There is Beltran on his first at bat having a collision at home. Thankfully that wasn't the case. Collins said after the game he should have told Hale to give Beltran the automatic stop sign. A bit late now.

Beltran who is nursing that knee said after the game he will see where he is Monday morning before deciding if he will play a second straight game as a DH. Collins of course, none the wiser, said yeah we will see Beltran playing Monday against the Tigers. Ahhh communication. Love to see how it used so well with these Mets!

Jason Bay who is now a singles machine ran back to the wall on a homer by Juan Linares. No he didn't pound the wall like he did in LA, but he said no issues. Good. Now can you do a little more damage at the plate there Mr Castillo, I mean Jason Bay.
