The Mets announced that Carlos Beltran will not be playing for a couple of days due to left knee tendinitis. This is the knee that is suppose to be the strong one.
After 1 game at DH this has shown itself . This cant be good for Beltran. Sandy Alderson played the issue down saying he could play if needed to but why in March should he force it. The bigger question is that Beltran felt this before even playing back to back games as a DH let alone the field.
Quote from Sandy Alderson via ESPN NY
“He's got some tendinitis in his left knee, which was the non-surgery knee. It may have come from overcompensating for the problem with the right knee. He's going to get some anti-inflammatories, and his activity will be limited over the next four or five days, but they want to allow the anti-inflammatories to work and kind of nail this problem before it becomes more problematic.”
Nick Evans I am sure did a fist pump when he heard this. If Beltran is on the DL as the season starts we might see either him or F Mart make the team when they start the season.
