He's Here: Ronny Paulino Arrives In Mets Camp
Free agent signee Ronny Paulino finally worked out his Visa problems and arrived in the Mets clubhouse Friday night.
Paulino, whose arrival was hindered by Customs Agents in his native Dominican Republic, finally was permitted to enter the US and report to his new team, the New York Mets.
It was easier getting little Carol Anne back from the Poltergeist than it was getting Paulino into Mets camp. In what should have been a simple trip from the D.R. - Paulino was delayed three weeks more than what was originally anticipated. Hopefully the ghost and demons in "Paulinogeist" have been exorcised, and Ronny will have smooth sailing the remainder of the year.
Paulino will be ineligible to play in the first 8 games this season due to a 50 game suspension last year for PED use.
As Josh Thole's back-up, hopefully Paulino will be able to take the young Thole under his wing, much the way Rod Barajas and Henry Blanco did last year.
The big question is: for how long will Ronny and the Mets be safe from the "Paulinogeist?"
