Successful Road Trip: Mets Return Home Winning 4 Of 6

The Mets defeated the Astros 7-4 today, taking four games of this six game road trip. Although still 2 games under .500, the Mets have been doing better taking series from their opponents.

After being no hit for 4 innings and being down 2-0, the Mets, not to sound like Art Howe, battled back. The hero of the game was starting 2B Justin Turner, who was 2-4 with 5 RBI and his first Major League HR.

Turner is quickly showing the Mets and their fans that he truly deserves to be the starting 2B. He might be making the decision more difficult for Skipper Collins to put Murphy back there after Fearless Ike's return. At the very least he has shown he deserves to be included in the 2B conversation.

Jose Reyes stole second and third base in the fifth inning, becoming the NL leader in SB's with 14. Jason Pridie stole home on the same play Reyes stole second, becoming the first Met to steal home since Luis Castillo (remember him?).

The Mets return home for four games: two against the arch rival Florida Marlins and two games against the Nationals.

The Mets look to get closer to the .500 mark when they play Florida tomorrow night at GHMP at 7:10 PM.
