Wheeler Starts, Satin At 3rd, Mets Look To Take Rubber Game From Royals: Mets Lineup V. Royals - August 4, 2013

Today Zack Wheeler will take the mound trying to salvage the Rubber game against the Royals. Wheeler was dominant for 7 innings in his last start against Miami, only allowing 3 hits.

Josh Satin will get the start at 3B and Ike Davis will start at 1B. The Mets need Ike to build upon his solid 3-3 outing on Friday night, and the Mets desperately need Fearless to display the HR power he had in 2010 and 2012.

With David Wright sidelined for the foreseeable future, the Mets are in desperate need of some offense, and what better way than to have their beleaguered 1B step up to the challenge.

The Mets offense was non-existent yesterday until Josh Satin had a clutch hit tying the game in the 8th,

David Aardsma has back-to-back poor outings as closer, and with Parnell sidelined temporarily (?), the Mets might want to give Atchinson a shot; he pitched well of late.

The Mets are creeping up to the Phillies, with both teams 15.5 games behind the Braves in the NL East.

Today's Mets lineup V. KC:

1.  Young - LF
2.  Murphy - 2B
3.  Satin - 3B
4.  Byrd - RF
5.  Davis - 1B
6.  Lagares - CF
7.  Buck - C
8.  Quintanilla - SS
9.  Wheeler - RSP
