Recently the Mets signed former Reds GM Wayne Krivsky. Krivsky, who served with the Mets in a scouting role, was hired for some of the following reasons:
1. His organizational skills. Minaya is lacking in this, and Krivsky will keep the scouting staff more involved in day-to-day business.
2. Contract negotiations. Krivsky is used to working in small markets, and has a reputation of negotiating down to the last nickel.
3. He will also be able to alleviate some of the load incurred by John Ricco since his increased role since the Minaya implosion at the “Bernazard firing press conference.”
More realistically, he is a capable GM ready to step in if Minaya is released.
