It’s only been 5 weeks since I wrote an article about how it might be time for Carlos Delgado to take a seat. Well I think as Met fans we are happy that nobody listened to us.
Where would be without the month of July he just had?
Well people are talking about now that maybe we should pick up his option for next year. Our friends over at New York Mets daily seem to think so. To read there take on it click here
I’m not ready to spend 16 million on this puppy just yet. I dont think 1 month deserves a contract. Yes he has an incredible month. Without this past month I’m sure we would have lost a couple more games then we did. It is though only 1 month. I think we need to wait it out for a while longer before we go ok let’s go and pick up his option.
Isn’t it time we think about youth and Carlos is not a spring chicken anymore.

I was killing this guy all season. I'm amazed at his turnaround. He's been the key to the Mets recent surge. Let's hope the lack of bullpen help doesn't kill it.
