For Die Hard Mets Fans

In today's Bloomberg.com, they report that after Shea Stadium closes, season ticket holders will have the opportunity to purchase their seat(s) before the stadium is demolished. The purchase price of this must have souvenir is a modest $869 for a pair. The purchase price was established by putting the two years the Mets won the World Series (1969, 1986). The earnings, 30% from the sale of these seats, will go towards its charity, the Mets Foundation, David Howard, the team's executive vice president for business, said in an interview. The city will receive 70 percent of the proceeds from the Shea Stadium sale.

All this from a team that won't celebrate their past, as we have posted on a few occasions
Here and Here.

I'm sure alot of fans want a seat. Again the average fan who goes to games will be shut out .
