MLB Network has named former SNY studio analyst Harold Reynolds and former Met pitcher Al Leiter to be studio analysts.
Also added to the crew are Trenni Kusnierek and Hazel Mae as reporters. They join Matt Vasgersian, who was named last week as studio host of MLB Tonight.
President and Chief Executive Officer of MLB Network, Tony Petitti stated, "The high caliber of on-air talent that we have been able to secure will ensure that our fans will enjoy informative and entertaining telecasts. All of the MLB Network personalities have extensive experience covering Major League Baseball and that background will enrich MLB Tonight, Hot Stove, and MLB Network as a whole."
MLB Network, which will begin on January 1, 2009, will have it’s MLB Tonight show starting at 6:00 PM EST. As reported on MLB.com, “The program will feature live look-ins of games in progress, updates, highlights, reporting and analysis. Hot Stove, will air during the off-season at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Monday through Friday and feature news, reports, and analysis of the moves clubs are making and planning in preparation for the upcoming season.”
MLB Network will launch in approximately 50 million cable and satellite homes. With numbers this large, it will be the most successful debut of a network in television history.
