F-Mart Shut Down

Highly regarded Met prospect, Fernando Martinez, has been shut down for the next three weeks due to a strained muscle in his right, throwing, elbow.

Martinez, a left handed hitting OF prospect, had experienced soreness and swelling in the elbow. The Mets flew Martinez to NY for an examination, where the injury was confirmed.
Martinez had been playing in the Caribbean Series when the injury occurred.
