If your like me your chomping at the bit for baseball to start even if its those useless games in spring training. The Met players do not have much time before they have to report to spring training. Pitchers and catchers report by the end of next week.
In an article in the NY Post on Ryan Church you can find out what he has been doing in the off season. The part I like about the article is his excitement about picking up where he left off pre-concussion. The question that comes up also is should he bat 2nd?
Church states "I'll take any spot but I love hitting in that 2-hole"
The article also mentions that in 41 games there lifetime, Church batted .313 with a .412 on base percentage. The Mets were 15-8 last year in games where Church batted second.
I would feel better about Church in the 2nd hold if Castillo was the Castillo of old and could actually hit . If the Mets bat Church 6th and the guys behind him don't hit it could be a long season for Church.
