Mets LOOGY, Pedro Feliciano, narrowly escaped injury during batting practice for Team Puerto Rico.
Feliciano was in the OF, with his back to the plate, when Ramon Vazquez, Pittsburgh Pirates, hit a deep fly ball to CF. The ball hit Feliciano in the back of the neck.
Feliciano, who seemed fine, and never called for medical attention, said, "I kind of felt it. I just thought someone had flipped it. Ramon told me he didn't think it would go that far."
The true telling point of whether Feliciano escaped injury or not, will be how he feels tomorrow after he wakes up and reports to the field. It will be then the Mets will either be real concerned, or breathe a sigh of relief.
