Farm Report Jonathan Niese roughed up in first start

I guess yesterday was not a day for being a lefty starter in the Mets organization. The Mets prospect Jonathan Niese opened the season for the Mets Bisons farm club and got rocked . He gave up five hits, three walks, and five earned runs in just two innings to the Pawucket Red Sox on Thursday. The Bisons lost the opener 6-4.

Mets oft injured prospect Fernando Martinez went 2-for-4 with a double and a triple in the loss.

Hmmmm - Ollie got roughed up by the Red Sox (4/4), Niese got roughed up by the Pawtucket Sawx (4/9). Maybe the Sawx feast on NY lefties?
