The Mets probably wish that Jose Valentin spent some time in the minors this year because he could have been a prime candidate to be with the big club when Ramon Martinez went down.
Well the Mets have another Valentin on the buffalo roster his brother Javier.
The Mets have him playing first base for the awful buffalo Bisons right now. He is hitting .263 and has hits in the last 9 out of 10 games for the Bisons. The 33 year old has launched 3 home runs. So if the Mets lose Murphy to injury or he is sent down we might see another Valentin make the trip to flushing.
