Jerry Manuel worried about his job? He should be.

Not too long ago Mr Manuel took over for Willie Randolph and everyone was happy that Willie was gone . Now a couple of years later Jerry is on the hot seat. He sat down with the press at the winter meetings yesterday . To read the full Q&A which is pretty extensive check it out over at Mr Rubins page here

Some of the highlights include what he thinks of Santos and all the catching additions, the addition to Terry Collins and Bob Melvin to the staff. The expectations of David Wright. “oh last year was aberration” Of course there is the Jerry humor.

Q. What do you do when you're at home during the off-season just trying to keep up on Mets off-season news? I'm sure you're in touch with Omar.

JERRY MANUEL: I stay in touch with Omar, and that's about it. I don't, obviously, read any of the periodicals or anything like that. I just kind of pick up the garbage, sweep the kitchen floor, those types of things. I don't really do much.

To me its all about 1 thing . The teams performance. If Jerry does not get the team motivated to play fundamental baseball and of course win he will be gone before you know it. He might not be the best manager but at least his press conferences are entertaining.
