Meet the Mets 2010 Predictions

Ahhh predicitions. Does it matter ? Not really but hey everyone does it . So here are my predictions for 2010. They are not your normal run of the mill predictions I assure you.

First off why is Sean Green on this team? He gives up 2 runs in the game against the Orioles and is rewarded by making the team. Did anyone on this team watch Nelson Figueroa pitch ? Hello? anyone there?? the bullpen roster includes K-Rod, Pedro Feliciano, Jenrry Mejia, Ryota Igarashi, Hisanori Takahashi and Fernando Nieve.

My first predicition. Santana has a lead on opening day and Green gets the loss. He will be sent back to buffalo by Mid may the latest. I hope because he is a waste of 950K

My second predicition . The defense on this team will not be any better then last year. They preach defense but I have watch games with Pagan lapsing in Centerfield. Shocking I know. I like the kid but there is something missing up there. Now he will cost the team runs and wins. Matthews Jr is no better. I do not see him as a take charge centerfielder. Look forward to watching balls split him and Franceour as it heads to the right-center wall.

Wright will not hit 25 homers. Yes he looks like has a nice stroke going with his duck like run down to first base. The issue here is that the homers he has hit in spring, more then 50% would fall for doubles in the modell zone. I think he will hit more then 20 dingers but not by much.

Tatis-Jacobs platoon? When Tatis is playing first check the boxscore for how many inning killer double plays he will hit into.

The Jerry Manuel watch. Really he has no control over the injuries. He does have control of who he brings into a game and he has to take some responsiblity for the 25 man roster. This bullpen can make this a very long summer for us Met fans. Look for him to be gone sometime in June when the team is 10 games under .500

The Kevin Burkhardt watch-Looking forward to seeing him on line at Citi Field ordering some fish tacos!

Jobu...My prediction for our friend Jobu is that he will wake from his winter crouch and actually make a post here on 24 hours. Will wonders ever cease?

...another prediction: Murphy's sprained MCL will need surgery after he either tries to come back too soon, or has been mis-diagnosed.

I agree about Manuel. If he is let go in June, who is the next skipper? Imagine if it is Backman? His season in the minors doesn't start until June. His first gig with the Mets...he might not ever manage there (Brooklyn).

i see bob melvin getting the call. I think backman can be more effective with the kids.

Don't forget Tim Teufel. Neither choice (Melvin or Teufel) inspires.
