It had been since the Mets were still playing at Shea Stadium that the Mets had there last walk off until friday night. Back in 2008 david Wright had a walk off win against the Padres.
Now 2 nights in a row the Mets had walk off wins. This time from there other catcher Henry Blanco. On the first pitch in the bottom of the 11th Blanco took Mets ole friend Mr Mota deep in almost the same place Barajas did the night before. The Mets won 5-4.
Barajas would have started Saturday but Manager Jerry gave him the day off since Barajas hand was still swelling a little from being hit by a bat in Friday nights contest.
Santana went 7 and 2/3 innings and seem to have better control of his pitches. There was some chatter that he might have been tipping his pitches against Philly last week.
Jason Bay had hit first multiple Rbi game yesterday for the Mets . He has a total of 12 for the season.
Luis Castillo came out of the game due to a sore heel. He was looking a bit more gimpy then usual yesterday. Look for him to sit today against the freak.
Mets last back to back walk offs? 2001 against Philly. Ventura and Piazza had the honors.
Great quote from Aubrey Huff about the wind and the vastness of Citi Field from the Daily News.
"This place makes our place look like a bandbox," Huff said, referring to the pitcher-friendly AT&T Park in San Francisco. "This is a frustrating place to play when the wind gets going."
