Jesus To Make Room For Beltran
With Carlos Beltran being activated for Thursday's game against the Giants, the Mets have optioned Jesus Feliciano back to AAA Buffalo.
Feliciano, who spent a lifetime in the minors before finally being called up in June, was a respectable .276 with 2 RBI in 54 AB's.
Feliciano filled in for Pagan and Bay when players were given a days rest, or in Pagan's case, when he was sidelined briefly with a strained oblique muscle.
There should be no reason to doubt Feliciano will be back with the parent club before the end of the season. Worst case scenario would be coming back when the roster expands on September 1st. His hard work and dedication proved to worthwhile, and I can't imagine the Mets not giving him another opportunity this season, especially with Carlos Beltran's health after knee issues.
