Omar Looking To Jettison Perez?

According to Adam Rubin, Omar Minaya is looking to move beleaguered LSP, Oliver Perez. It is being reported that Minaya had offered Perez to the Royals for Gil Meche...straight up.

Aside from that being an awful idea because Meche is only 0-4 with a 6.66 ERA (Devilish I know), Meche has only made nine starts, and hasn't pitched since May 25th due to bursitis in his pitching shoulder.

Both players' contracts expire after the 2011 season, and both are owed $12M for the 2011 season.

Aside from this trade benefiting no one, other than you take my headache, and you give me yours, how can either player be traded? They are both on the DL.

Perez is scheduled to start today for Buffalo. In his last outing, Perez was unimpressive walking five, plunking two, and threw two wild pitches in five innings.
