New GM Sandy Alderson who will be heading to the winter meetings that start next week chatting with the local media today. He mentioned that Johan Santana will likely begin tossing a baseball in Jan. So any timetable for his return and rehab will have to wait until after that starts.
Ollie Perez will have some eyes watching him in Mexico. Terry Collins and Alderson will take some time out to watch the pitcher and expect Ollie to be with the team in spring training.
He doesn’t expect Pedro Felicano to be back with the club and also expects the Mets to make some moves during the winter meetings even if it’s a rule 5 draft pick.
Expect to see Tejada and Mejia start at Buffalo. He like to see them get a bit more seasoned. Tejada needs to bulk up a bit and Mejia just needs to be put in a role as a starter or reliever and stay with it.
Also I just read that Takahashi did sign a 2 year deal with the Angels for 8M. Not a lot for a guy who can be a jack of all pitchers.
