Waiting to the last moment before the 12 midnight deadline to offer a contract the Mets have decided not to offer contracts to pitchers Sean Green and John Maine. Maine who had a hurt shoulder for most of the year was due to earn close to 3M. The Mets I am sure were going back and forth on Green who made 950K in 2010 . He was hurt for most of the year.
The Mets also will not offer a contract to Chris Carter. He was the player the Mets got in the Billy Wagner deal. He has some nice power but he couldnt play the outfield. He could come back with a split contract.
Other notables that werent offered a contract by the Dodgers was catcher Russell Martin and relief pitcher George Sherill. Former Met Ryan Church was not offered a contract by the D Backs.
