Mets sign Jason Botts:Nick Evans replacement at Buffalo?

The Mets have made some minor league signings the last couple of days to help replenish the talent in Buffalo. The triple A affiliate has 8 players on the major league roster with all the injuries the Mets have.

There latest signing of 30 year old Jason Botts who has had some time playing with the Rangers and the Nationals minor league team might be more then just a filler . He is a switch hitter that can play the outfield and first base.  With the Mets possibly losing Nick Evans to free agency after this stint with the big club he could be a replacement for Evans at Buffalo.

Nick might elect free agency once the Mets have healthy bodies returned to the club. There have been rumblings that some teams might be interested in Evans.
