Mets Should Cross Hudson To Get Hudson

According to reports, the Seattle Mariners have signed former Angel 3B Chone Figgins. It is believed the deal will be 4 years $36M.

Now that Figgins is off the market, the Mets should go west of the Hudson to bring Hudson east of the Hudson.

Orlando Hudson, although appearing to be close to a contract with the Rockies according to many sources, could be had by the Mets.* It has been reported that the "O Dog" is not only a great defensive 2B, but a true team leader. Just the prescription the Mets need. As we have scribed, (24 Hours...9-21-09, 24 Hours...7-10-09, 24 Hours...1-3-09, 24 Hours...12-30-09 ) the Mets would greatly benefit having Hudson on their team. Castillo's trade value will never be higher than it is now, so the Mets should strike while the iron is hot.

Then again, if they don't, they can always sign Hudson when he's 40 years old...

* Now reports are that Hudson is not a point of interest for the Rockies: Thomas Harding - MLB.com
